Enjoy the diversity and beauty of Pittsburgh's Asian communities by coming to the day-long celebration that showcases the customs, food and art of several distinct Asian cultures from countries such as India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Japan, the Phillippines, China and Thailand. Try your hand at calligraphy or origami, sample an array of ethnic foods and enjoy a variety of traditional music and dance performances throughout the day.

Each year, the President of the United States proclaims the month of May as Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. In honor of this occasion, the Asian American Heritage Committee of the Federal Executive Board of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, of which the FAAP is a member, sponsors a series of week-long events. One of this is the search for Outstanding Asian American Students. These students are selected from each ethnic group and are recognized at a banquet during this week. Another event in which the FAAP actively participates is a day celebrating the diversity of Asian cultures, lately held at the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center. Here, the participating countries showcase their customs, songs and dances, cooking, and ways of life.
