FAAP 2007 Philippine Nationality Room Committee

Duties:
- Program, finance, and design the Philippine Nationality Room.
- Act as a liaison between the FAAP and the University of Pittsburgh's Nationality Room Committee.
Goals for 2007:
- Reach 80% of money needed for construction.
- Complete design of the project by end of 2007.
- Coordinate PNR fund-raising efforts with Grants Committee. As per past president letter to the FAAP board, officers and chairs in early 2006, when possible grants should be focused on raising money for PNR unless approved by the board.
- Get project endorsement from the President of the Philippines. (Consul General is currently working on this.)
- Get PNR article in Pittsburgh Magazine. (PNR PR officer is currently working on this.)
- Continue updating the website.
- Continue the design with Christina Turalba, Eliseo Art Silva and other consultants. Plan trip to the Philippines in early 2008. Continue design reviews with the University of Pittsburgh.
- Contact Filipino Architect Lira Luis in Wisconsin for possible support.
- Fundraising events being considered: cultural event, FAAP coffee table book, 50th anniversary history book, golf outing 2008, calendar sale 2008.
Long-Term Goals:
- Complete 100% funds and construction in two years.
- Redirect the committee to manage the room and coordinate annual scholarship for nationality room program.
- Plan a trip to Philippines, Jan-March 2008, for design validation.
