FAAP Charity Projects
The FAAP has established its role as a charitable organization by supporting a long list of charities over the years. Among these were the Santa Cruz Mission, Children's Hospital, Brother's Brother Foundation, Bethlehem Haven Shelter for Homeless Women, Pet Therapy, Philippine Red Cross, Special Olympics (State and County), Mom's House, Project Bundle-Up, Ronald McDonald House, Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank, Salvation Army, Miryam House, and disaster victims here and abroad.
Presently, the FAAP continues to support the following:
- Project Bundle-Up - needy children are assisted in choosing and purchasing winter clothes. This year, this activity will be held on October 21, Saturday at the Swissvale K-Mart from 7.00 to 9:00AM.
- Miryam House - the committee spreads cheer to the homeless during Thanksgiving Day. At Christmas time, the committee sets up and takes down their holiday decorations.
- Western Conservancy of PA - flowering plants are planted to brighten up areas along highways in Pittsburgh.
- Others - victims of tsunami and other disasters, the Santa Cruz Mission, Philippine Red Cross, the Palawan Women's Foundation, the Palawan Binuatan Creations, and the World of Hope Foundation.
