YFAP Benefit Concert

The Young Filipino Americans of Pittsburgh (YFAP) puts together a biennial Benefit Concert to raise funds and showcase its Dance Troupe and talented members. To date, there have been five of these events. The last two concerts coincided with Mother's Day, to honor all mothers in the association.

The First Benefit Concert was held in 1996. The concert proved highly successful in raising money for its designated beneficiaries through donations and sponsorships. The Second Benefit Concert was held in 1997 and the third in 1998. After a few years' hiatus, the YFAP revived the Benefit Concert in 2003. At this time, it was decided that the concert will henceforth be held biennially to coincide with Mother's Day, and that all proceeds will be designated for the construction of the Philippine Nationality Room, until this most ambitious of all FAAP projects is completed.

The "Fifth Benefit Concert and A Tribute to Mothers" occurred in May 2005. We look forward to the next Benefit Concert in 2007.
