Teodora Schippers's perseverance in pursuing grants from foundations and corporations paid off when the Philippine Nationality Room Project received a grant from the Laurel Foundation. But in order to apply for many such grants, audited financial statements of an association are required. Hence, at substantial cost, the FAAP engaged a CPA firm to prepare such statements for the years 2003 and 2004.
The grants committee which is chaired by Teody researches and prepares grant proposals and submits these to matching foundations. This year, the grant committee has prepared and sent out 10 grant proposals to various foundations. In addition, the committee has sent out over eighty private solicitation letters to friends and associates.
A total of $20,020 from grants and donations have been obtained for the Philippine Nationality Room Project, as follows:
| December 9, 2004 | Laurel Foundation | $10,000.00 |
| September 3, 2005 | Heinz Foundation | 5,000.00 |
| September 19, 2005 | Kaufmann's Charity Event | 3,000.00 |
| March 28, 2006 | Woodmere Foundation | 500.00 |
| 12/18/02 to 11/14/05 | Private Donors | 1,520.00 |
