The FAAP honors each year an outstanding high school senior who is an active member of the association. The FAAP considers for this award students who advance recognition of the Filipino people through excellent academic achievements, outstanding extra-curricular activities and participation in the cultural activities of the FAAP. Established in 1982, the award is named after Simplicio Maramba, a founder of the organization and its prime mover during the organization's early years. The Scholarship and Awards Committee selects the awardee. The award comes with a monetary grant of $1000 drawn from the interest of the Mainstay Funds of the association. The winner is traditionally announced at the Induction Ball.
