Site Purpose

[FAAP Logo]

The FAAP's three pillars of charity, culture, and education guide all of the association's efforts and direct the operation of this website. This site is the electronic gateway to resources, services, and other information that are intended to benefit the FAAP's members and to empower them in supporting the FAAP's mission. It also serves as the medium by which the general world community is informed about the FAAP, its history, present activities, and future goals.

Site Status 01.29.2007

On May 26, 2006, the FAAP acquired a new domain name for its website, www.theFAAP.org, replacing the older and inaccessible site at www.faap.info. This new site is still under construction. Thus, some pages are missing and some pages are rendered in the older style. Please bear with us during this construction phase.

The pages have been tested on Windows PCs with IE 6 and Firefox web browsers and Mac PC with Safari browser.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or bugs to report, please send an email to: webadmin@theFAAP.org.

Help Support This Site 02.01.2007

The FAAP is run by a team of dedicated volunteers. Its Website Committee is charged to create and maintain this site. While the committee has achieved many of its goals, many aspect of creating and maintaining pages of this site needs your input and active support. We appreciate any help you can provide. Some of the needs are non-technical. Specifically, we are looking for help in the following areas:

  • Editing the scanned image of the FAAP Logo to clean it up and make the white background transparent, and to produce a logo image that fits well on the page header (banner) which is at the top of every page.
  • Gathering of digital photos and videos captured during FAAP-related events and gathering.
For the images to be useful, they must have appropriate captions.
  • Organizing the images for archiving purposes to facilitate retrieval and editing in preparation for posting on this site
  • Editing the images to fit the intended area on the target page and to reduce the size of the file, just enough for viewing purposes; and, to enhance the overall quality of the images
  • Gathering of or creating icons, cartoons, sketches and other digital graphic arts that can be used to enhance the overall appearance of this site
  • Writing or editing textual content for posting on this site
  • Providing ideas to improve the appearance and useability of this site
  • Promoting this site to generate interest and support for FAAP's mission
